Are all Easter eggs required for Ending C?

No. This guide distinguishes the three area-secret routes used for Ending C from optional discoveries and visual references. It is not a complete catalogue of every decorative Easter egg. For the three completion landmarks, see the area checklist.

Choose your game version and goal

Use the route that matches what you are playing. A secret shown in the earlier Demo is not automatically a requirement for the full release.

Choose the secret you are working on

The three area secrets feed the hidden Ending C route. Use this table to find the required item and the next guide without replaying unrelated puzzles.

AreaFirst requirementOpen the next step
Misery TownMetal Detector from TimesvilleFind the remote and follow its map
TimesvilleFishing Paper and all 18 fishTrack missing fish or use the key you already have
The OfficeTelescopeFind the phone clue and enter the symbol room

These routes are grouped by area, rather than using walkthrough section numbers as game chapters. The Steam Ending C guide ↗ places preparation for all three area secrets in Chapter I.

What counts as finished?

Finding a route item is a starting point, not proof that the area secret is complete. Use the three completion landmarks and the linked route steps to check what remains. Keep a separate save before boss progression as a precaution; the sources do not establish that every later save is permanently blocked.

Prepare a save before the area bosses

Keep a separate save before finishing each area's boss progression if you intend to complete the secret route. This gives you a way back if an item or interaction is missing. Do not assume that every late-game save can revisit every room.

Use the Ending C walkthrough for the combined requirements. The boss archive covers the separate fight and non-fight outcomes; those choices should not be confused with completing an area's hidden secret.

Misery Town: remote and hidden map

Bring the Timesville Metal Detector into the movie tent and search the sandy floor. Use the buried Projector Remote to reveal a path, record that path, then follow it in the checkerboard room where you obtained the Hands.

The Projector Remote guide explains the location and continuation. Check the Steam route description ↗ if the room state differs from your save.

Timesville: fish collection and window lock

The Fishing Paper tracks 18 unique fish across six day and night states. Completing it and inspecting it again gives the Old or Lost Key. This is not the Office Core Key.

After completing the shared puzzle between the two similar rooms, return to the smaller one. Switching to windowed mode and re-entering reveals the lock. Use the Old Key guide for the fish table, numbered actions and troubleshooting.

The paper and window-lock steps are illustrated in the Timesville secret guide ↗.

The Office: clue, waiting condition and symbols

Use the telescope near the Office entrance to find the telephone clue. Call the number through the Jobs application and follow the message directing you under the stairs. Wait there for about a minute, then continue with the revealed puzzles.

Use the Office entry steps and the seven symbol stages, including the count rule, sixth-stage matrix and hidden fifth tile.

If your current problem is getting through the normal Office item chain, the Core Key and water cooler guide covers Mug → Flower → Wrench → Core Key. Obtaining that key alone does not complete the Office secret.

Optional interactions and achievement cleanup

Other optional discoveries affect fights and achievements rather than serving as a fourth area secret. The Scalpel from the clown puzzle can change the later Trapezist encounter. Compare the boss routes and achievement guide before choosing an outcome you want to record.

Earlier Demo secrets and Easter eggs

The 2 Left Thumbs secrets and Easter eggs video ↗ covers the earlier Demo and was published in 2023. Use it for that version's visual references, separately from the full-release Ending C routes above.

If a room, interaction or puzzle differs from the video, check which version you are playing before repeating its steps. We have not verified those Demo triggers against the full release, and do not count them as extra Ending C requirements. This page is not a complete catalogue of every decorative reference.

These are the three landmarks named in the cited all-endings walkthrough. Check the scenes themselves, not just inventory items.

  • Finding the remote is not the same as finishing its hidden map route.
  • Catching every fish is not the same as collecting and using the key.
  • Getting the Office Core Key is not the same as completing the telephone and symbol route.
  • Completing one area secret is not enough for Ending C.

If you know the area but not the missing action, start with that row in the table. If all three routes appear complete, continue with the final Ending C checks.
