Who is the Trapezist?
Community references identify the Trapezist as the leader and climactic boss of Misery Town. Her presentation is tied to the circus performance, the crowd, and the sequence of tasks that lets Mellow reach the final act.
Her page is inherently spoiler-heavy because her identity and encounter function are part of the area's reveal. If you only want to know how to progress, use the short route below and avoid the broader character material.
Reaching the performance
The Misery Town route connects several Misery Town objectives. You must deal with the Red Jester's booth, help Pierrot with the gift sequence, obtain the necessary plushie, and use the microphone to move or clear the audience at the correct point.
The blue inflatable character's plushie chain begins with the red ball from the medical-tent sequence. If you are missing it, use the blue guy puzzle guide before assuming the performance route is blocked.
Fight route
The conventional route proceeds into the Trapezist boss encounter. Community material describes ball-based attacks and multiple phases. Prioritize reading the attack rhythm and safe windows rather than trying to trade damage through the performance.
Steam's official achievement list includes Fatal Performance, providing an official signal for the defeat outcome even though detailed tactics come from the walkthrough and gameplay evidence.
Avoid route
The alternate route uses the Scalpel to cut the rope rather than completing the conventional boss fight. The Scalpel comes from the earlier clown and Whack-a-Mole sequence, which is why an apparently local puzzle can change a later major encounter.
Steam's Cut The Act achievement confirms that the alternate resolution is recognized. Keep a save before choosing an outcome if you want to see both or clean up achievements efficiently.
Common reasons the route stalls
- The earlier Scalpel was never collected.
- The plushie and Pierrot gift sequence is incomplete.
- The Red Jester has not left the booth.
- The microphone has not been used to clear the crowd.
- The player is trying to use a route item before the performance state is ready.
